Love is everywhere at night

7 مايو, 2010 | ?????? ???????

Long before there was The Twilight Saga and The Vampire Diaries, there was Moonlight.

This vampire-centric CBS drama starred Alex O'Loughlin as Mick St. John, an immortal private investigator from Los Angeles. The show premiered in 2007 and was canceled after one season.

Now, however, The CW is (sort of) resurrecting the franchise: it will air all 16 episodes of Moonlight on Thursdays night at 9 p.m., folliowing Vampire Diaries reruns, starting on June 3.

Does this mean the series has a chance to be brought back full-time? It's highly unlikely, considering O'Loughlin is now attached to Hawaii Five-O.

Why The CW swoop in and save Moonlight two years ago? That's easy: it aired before Edward Cullen and Stefan Salvatore made sexy, big-hearted blood suckers all the rage.

Now that vampires are more popular Justin Bieber, the network will try to capitalize on the trend as part of its summer schedule.

In a new interview with In Touch magazine, he says: “Kim is obsessed with fame.” The star has previously maintained she has a close bond with her sisters Khloe, 25, and Kourtney, 31, despite them regularly coming to blows on their reality shows. But Thomas said: “She's jealous and competitive with her sisters.”

He added: “She cannot write or sing or dance, so she does harmful things in order to validate herself in the media. That's a fame-whore to me. It's just not cool at all.” Thomas stated that 'jealousy is a large thing' for Kim and stated she would 'do whatever it takes' to get ahead of her rivals.

Learn On Topic of April Fools

6 أبريل, 2010 | ?????? ???????

The mayor of a town in Jordan says a local newspaper's April Fool's Day report chronicling a late-night visit by three-metre-tall aliens in flying saucers sparked public panic and almost led to the town's emergency evacuation.

The Al Ghad newspaper published a front-page article on April 1 about a UFO landing near the desert town of Jafr, about 300 kilometres from the capital, Amman. The fake report said the UFOs lit up the whole town, interrupted communications and sent fearful residents streaming into the streets.

Jafr's mayor, Mohammed Mleihan, got caught up in the prank and said he sent security authorities in search of the aliens.

“Students didn't go to school, their parents were frightened and I almost evacuated the town's 13,000 residents,” Mleihan said. “People were scared that aliens would attack them.”

A Jordanian security official said an emergency plan was almost enacted in Jafr.

Mleihan said he might sue the daily for its “big lie” but added the paper had called to apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Al Ghad's managing editor, Moussa Barhoumeh, said the report had been “blown out of proportion”.

“We meant to entertain, not scare people,” he said.

Jordan's newspapers rarely publish April Fool's jokes.
